The school academic year started from 26th June, students and parents were welcome and addressed by Hon. Headmaster. Meet was conducted with respective staff for annual planning. Then after detail assessment procedure conducted for new admitted student and follow up was taken for the previous student.

The school management & all special teachers came together for the group meeting for the academic and non academic activities. In curricular activities school management decided to follow education board’s programme plan and the extra activity like Drawing. Art & Craft, MDD, Trips, Sports, Annual Function as well as planning for awareness programme, CNR programmes and Community participation. Overall action plan was prepared for the following year. During the current year the school has celebrated 15th August, with the student.

From this year the school had conducted monthly meet staff at last working day of the month for forthcoming action plan. School had celebrated Independent day with student and community members. School uniform and Assistive devices distributed by school President on Independence Day.

With the sanction of 68 MR students with teaching- non teaching staff & in addition Driver- conductor, 16 seater mini bus, Saint Viktubaba Mentally Retarded children’s Residential School, Takalghat is running smoothly.

No, fees from students are taken. Uniform & educational material is supplied free of cost. In State Level Sports held our students got 4 gold + 2 Bronze Medals.

FOOD SERVICES:

Hygienic and nutritious food is provided to the residents. The food is made in controlled environment in the mess by experienced kitchen staff. Special food is also provided to sick residents as per doctor’s advice. Constant check-up of the food is also conducted in the mess. A water filter has been installed to get hygienic water all the time.

HOSTEL:

The centre has separate dormitories for male and female residents, which facilitate the residential need for 200 children with mental retardation & associated with other disabilities. Beneficiaries are provided the separate dormitory and each dormitory has its own lavatory. Children with terminal illness or dependent children are kept under supervision of a single caregiver. Caregivers provides proper daily living care such as eating, toileting, bathing, and dressing, for the children who cannot live independently, within our school. Beneficiaries are categorized based on their IQ level and age, and they are under constant watch of caregivers and staff.

A medical unit with one Medical Officer, 3 Nurses and one compounder treat all the children housed in our Campus for minor illness such as fever, cold, cough, scabies, diarrhea, vomiting, epilepsy and minor injuries.
  • For major illness, as per the suggestion of Medical Officer, children are sent to outside hospitals for thorough investigations and treatment like GMC, IGGMCH and Lata Mangeshkar Hospital.
  • Regular medical check-up of children is done by the Medical Officer.
  • The process of storage and distribution of medicine is properly documented (Medicine distribution log) and streamlined.
  • Medicines are distributed to children by nurses with the help of caregivers as per prescription which is reviewed by a nurse and supporting staff.
  • A separate medicine distribution log is maintained for temporary medicines. Sick children are referred to the Hospitals.
  • If residents are admitted in hospital, caregivers appointed to take care of resident at hospital. Staffs are oriented by nurses in taking care of their own health while dealing with sick residents.
